The British Racing School uses stable waste from 71 horses on site to power a 650kW combined heat and power biomass boiler. Previously the stable waste was stored on site and removed at regular intervals. Now ALL the waste can provide both heat and power to the British Racing School site, with excess power being sold back to the grid as electricity. Saleable electrical power up to 65kWe (gross) per hour and thermal energy up to 500kWe will be produced.
This project is based on the placement of one Uniconfort Global 60 series combustion unit operating at 6 BAR and delivering 6.5l/s at 130oC of super heated water. Included will be the boiler and necessary, complimentary equipment, One Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) unit, delivering 65kWe (gross) and an adiabatic condensing unit.
The installation is housed in a suitable structure provided and erected by Eco Link Resources. The biomass system is WID compliant and has been designed expressly to use solid fuels and biomass with a tolerance of higher moisture content (up to 70%)
