The project is to provide a biomass solution for Kingswood Leisure Centre to burn clean waste wood to produce saleable electric power up to 125kWe (Gross) per hour and 900KW of thermal energy to provide heating for heating (pool) and hot water.
This project is based on the placement of one Uniconfort Global 90 series combustion unit operating at 8 BAR and delivering 10.5l/s at 135oC of super heated water.
Included will be necessary, complimentary equipment and a set of Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) units delivering 125kWe (gross).
CO2 Savings - Logs V's Gas
Logs = (Based on Globlal 90 boiler) 180,000kg of CO2 emissions per year.
Gas = (Based on equivalent boiler) 1,396,000kg of CO2 emissions per year.
TOTAL SAVING OF 1,216,000kg of CO2 per year (Approximate Figures)
Assumptions for this calculation are:
Biomass burner @ .9mw
Calculated annual hours – 8,000hrs
CO2 emission factor for Biomass – 0.025 kgCO2/KWh (obtained from Table 2 Approved Document Part L2A)
CO2 emission factor for Gas – 0.194 kgCO2/KWh (obtained from Table 2 Approved Document Part L2A)
