Sources of Income and Funding Print this pagePrint this page

Various sources of income and funding are in place to stimulate the market for biomass energy. The main ones are listed below:

1.

Electricity sales

We can advise and help you with the selection of the most appropriate electricity customer from the wide range of companies offering to purchase your green electricity, through from initial advice to detailing Power Purchase Agreements.

2.

Feed in Tariffs or Renewable Obligation Certificates

We can assist with:

·     Advice on ROC banding with reference to fuel supplies and technologies together with monitoring of this.

·     Combined heat and power quality assurance (CHPQA) for ROC certification.

Continued monitoring for ROC certification.

The feed-in tariffs are available from 1st April 2010.  We can advise small scale electricity producers on the technicalities of these. Which of FIT’s or ROC’s should you go for? We can assess this through our bespoke renewable energy software.

3.

Heat Sales

Heat is worth 2-6p/kw depending on where and how it is used, whilst coming in many forms.  We can assist with assessing potential heat uses, the most appropriate and economic solutions for your project.

4.

Renewable Heat Incentive

The Renewable Heat Incentive will come into force from 1st April 2011, giving for the first time those businesses and organisations utilising renewable heat sources the opportunity to derive an income stream from this.  We are well placed to assess the potential of this for those existing facilities and their possible options.  In addition, we can assess the income streams and the varying technologies that might be available to any one particular situation where they are considering investing in renewable heat technology.

5.

Combined Heat & Power Quality Assurance (CHPQA).

This will potentially be required to determine FIT’s, ROC’s and/or RHI.

We can assist with all the administration of this initial scheme to ensure you maximise your FIT’s, ROC’s, RHI’s and LEC’s, through from initial registration to ongoing monitoring.
